Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I'm new to this sight and not to sure what a "Surgery Buddy" is, but i'd be happy to be yours if it's about exchanging stories, encouragement and just being their for one another!! My surgery is scheduled for this Tuesday. i'm having the GBP, what are you having?
Boy oh boy do i remember all those appts!!! Actually, in my case, my Ortho Dr told me in March he wanted me to have this surgery, referred me to my Dr, i had to attend his seminar first which was also in March and afterwards we were told to call for an appt to see the Dr which wasnt until JULY!! In the meantime i learned that with my ins, i had to have 6 consecutive Dr's visits monitoring my weight, so i started that month!! When i finally had my first appt i was given that list of dr's and tests that needed to be done in order to have the surgery, my next appt was scheduled for Sept 13th but i completed everything by the middle of august which expedited my surgery date!
So tomorrow is my day and i know im not going to get any sleep tonite but once i get home, i'll let you know how hings went!
