I wore comfy clothes in and wore the same thing out. I had tons with me but all I used was cell, cell charger, chapstick, brush, hairband, slippers. I used all of those things alot.

congratulations, bring a robe. you will be doing a lot of walking in the hall to get rid of the gas. I had to ride for 4 hours after my surgery. a pillow will come in handy to hug on the way home

good idea with the pillow!! I didn't even think of that, would be good to hold onto while going over bumps in the road etc. I will pick up some wisps too!

With the ipod, I could bring mine but I don't know if I would really use it. Maybe would be good to bring like you said to drown out the hospital noises.

The one thing I would recommend that you take is nasal saline spray. The oxygen can really dry out your sinuses and the spray adds comfort as well as helps you avoid a sinus infection. If the sinus passages get too dried out you are susceptible to infection. I swear by Ayr, a spray that can sometimes be found only in the baby aisle. It doesn't have a nasty chemical after taste..... :) Good luck with your surgery.

I took earplugs - really helped me sleep at night in the noisy hospital.

Congrats on your date! I wore the same thing in to the hospital as out. I wore my biggest button down shirt and sweat pants. I brought slip on shoes, because you will not want to bend too much or tie shoes after. I put my hair in a loose ponytail and kept it up the entire time so it would not get too matted. You will sleep a lot and not really shower until you leave to go home, so you do not want to have a knotted mat when you go home. The hospital usually has a brush, shampoo, toothbrush etc, but you can bring your own. My mouth was totally dry to the point I could hardly talk. They gave me a mouth sponge at the hospital to help, but did not tell me how to use it so I just swished water and spit. I was not allowed to eat or drink for a day, so I could not swallow the water, but it helped to swish. Sounds like you know how to cover your backside when having to walk around the hospital, so that is fine. You may be a bit bloated after the surgery, so make sure your clothes are not tight. That is why I opted for sweats and button down shirt. I brought my phone and charger. Mainly I slept and used the pain pump. I did not want to hurt and I did not. Best of luck with all.

JJ, have I told you that you look PHENOMENAL!! Holy!

My surgery was last Wednesday. I wore my biggest, most comfy elastic waisted pants, a loose fitting top (that I could wear without a bra), a change of undewear for when I went home, chapstick, cell phone, charger, footies, slide-on comfy sandals for walking, hairbrush, and my own toothbrush. I also brought my own shower gel, deodorant, and face cleaner which was great to have when I could finally shower. Bringing a pillow for the ride home is a great idea - I wish I would have done that - as the belly is definitely tender as you go over those bumps in the road.

Yeah the pillow idea is fantastic, totally bringing one with me!

I had my surgery on April 11. I planned on surgery Wednesday and going home Thursday. I didn't go home until Saturday afternoon. I took clothes but only for out of the gown to go home! My hair brush and deodorant were nice to have though! Also my phone and charger. I took a book but was too pooped to read!

Sounds like you are ready. Love the idea of ear plugs - I could have used them for sure.
