I have a friend that had gps and does eat these. I've been afraid to go there...I'm sure my body will tolerate them but I just don't want to start any bad habits. I need to use what little space I have in my pouch to ensure I get my daily protein.

I did pick up Adkins Peanut Caramel Cluster Bar. These are kinda like a payday candy bar but they have 1g sugar, only 2 net carbs and 8g protein!! If I want or need a snack then I at least and adding to my protein bottom line. :)-

I am 10 weeks out,i get the kashi cookies and once in awhile have one havent tried the sugar free cookies yet!

I make peanut butter cookies with 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup splenda, 1 tbsp vanilla, and 1 egg then just put on a cookie tray like you regularly would peanut butter cookies and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.

I agree with tex, if I'm going seek out a snack it's going to be packed with protein and there a lots of protein bars to pick from, just make sure you look for low sugar and plenty of protein! I think the key here if you want something like the sf cookies just make sure you've done the head work and can enjoy them in moderation and use portion control, I don't ever want to feel like I "can't" have something but I know I need to use this important time and tool to get my head right. I broke down and bought some but like Tex says I think it is a bad habit to start. Sugar-free, yes, but not calorie free. As others have said, 'need to leave room in the pouch for proteins." This is a steep learning curve and really frustrating. Food choices seem so limited so shortly after surgery. The important thing is to develop better habits - this is what I keep telling myself. Not sure about you but I CANNOT tolerate anything with any type of sugar alcohol at all! So, you may want to take that into consideration and try it first : )

I dont eat them, but made some sugar free brownies from a box mix a couple weeks ago and can tell you that even sugar free means dumping for me. I thought I was going to DIE. I would have welcomed it. And I had MAYBE a piece that was an inch and a half square.

I have NEVER been so sick in all my life. So, be careful ... Maybe it was the richness of the brownie, I dont know - but I am 8 months out, this was my first foray into anything baked and I wont be repeating the experience again.

If they are made with white flour, i.e., "enriched wheat flour", I don't eat them. White flour is as bad for us as white sugar.....Sigh.
