Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
You said, "I feel like I'll be right back to my old self in a few months if I keep this up!"
You already know what is going to happen if you keep it up. Is that really what you want?
This is the time you should be working your hardest to loose as much weight as fast as you can. The first 6 months is when you will loose the fastest so don't let yourself get distracted by junk food.
The 1st six weeks are so hard because of all the liquid diet, pureed, soft foods, etc. It is normal to want to eat something that actually tastes good and feels normal to eat.
But don't get off track. Purpose in your heart that you are going to eat according to your plan - protein first, then veggies, fruit, etc. Don't beat yourself up if you eat a little something you shouldn't.... we all do it. Just make sure that 99% of the time you are doing what you're supposed to.
Hugs,
Janet
