Morning!
I was talking to my partner the other day. She noticed in the last 4 months since we've been dating, that I've been very motivated, upbeat, and just gun ho on getting things accomplished. She asked me, "What changed in your life, that you got so motivated and excited about life?
Well, I told her....the last 2 years..I've been basically homebound because of my spinal stenosis, degenerative disease, and severe arthritis, and can't walk or stand more than 10 or so minutes.
So, getting started on this journey for the GBS, and meeting her. (she is a godsend, and supports me and encourages me in everything I do), I just decided, "this is MY life, and i'm taking control of it, and am going to get "BETSY Back!!!!!!
So, that is what I answered.
I'm so glad i'm in this place in my life right now. I am so ready, for this surgery, and everything that goes along with it. I know there will be challenges..It's not all mind over matter, and I have to "do the work", and that means ,
1) Slowing down on my eating, and chewing each bite slowly, and putting my fork down. That food is NOT going anywhere, it will still be on the plate , if put my fork down ! LOL!
2) Not drinking 30 minutes before, or 30 minutes after a meal.
3) Not to use my physical pain, as an excuse to go OFF the diet...Kinda feeing the emotions.
These are just a few things I KNOW I need to work on.
Thanks for listening!! You all have been such a wonderful group to be a part of, and i'm learning SO much! Looks like surgery will be scheduled for mid august, or late august, as long as my endoscopy and my insurance is on track!

My life is good right now too! I have alot of energy and don't feel tired or hurt at the end of day like I used to when I weighed 270. I can run and do agility turns with my dog in agility class that I couldn't do so good at 270. I don't take any meds for my knee and my knees, back and feet don't hurt like they used to. I am blessed to have a wonderful job, good running car, good family and friends, wonderful caring boyfriend and great furkids! Life is good!
