Some unsettling comments

It's been 7 months and 72 lbs. I am at 168 lbs. The weight loss has slowed to about 5 lbs. a month but my size keeps going down. 14's are too big but not all 12's fit yet. I wore a CONSERVATIVE two piece bathing suit to the pool this weekend and actually looked pretty darn good. (I am blessed with very "elastic" skin as my MD told me many years ago so have no stretch marks and my abdomen skin has bounced back pretty well.) My husband thought I looked great and he's the one who matters.

Lately I've gotten some comments from folks that have "rubbed me the wrong way". Here's some examples "How much have you lost now?" "I am sooooo jealous of you" "Hey Skinny bitch."
I guess I am being sensitive but those all embarrass me and I have no response. I don't like to talk about how much I've lost with folks I am not close to, I have nothing to respond to someone who tells me she is jealous and I am NOT skinny. No one would have dared said "Hey Fatso" to me last year at this time. Am I just being crabby? K

It is a good thing we aren't like comics, walking around with a bubble above our heads, with what we are thinking in the bubble for everyone to read...then again, a lot of people would leave me alone after the first time they said something inappropriate to me because they would be able to see what I was thinking! If only!!!

I always try to remember this when someone calls me a skinny bitch (usually jealous sister in law). I know that my weight loss is because I am a strong person who finally put myself first and did what I needed to do to be healthy. If this doesn't work my other comment is " I've been called worse by people who mean more"!

Congrats on the weight loss! My surgery is in Sept. I can't imagine ever being called skinny or anyone being jealous of me. I think I would just smile at them and say thank you.

Congratulations on your weight loss!! I have no problem telling people how much I have loss and when they ask how much more I just say until my body levels off and then I will work on maintaining. As far as the skinny B comments I have heard a few of those but I would rather them say it to my face then to think of the comments previously made behind my back before my weight loss. At least they are noticing the change and most are truly happy for you.

Congrats on the 72 pounds. You need to send some of that luck over my way lol. I been stuck at the same numbers plus or minus a pound for a month now and Im 8 months out. I get comments all the time to. Ppl telling me Im looking good and way to go. Those I dont mind. Its the ones of a few ppl that tell me Im anorexic or going to be one. Im hardly even close to being like that. Im like 1 digit away from falling into the bmi category of "overweight". I think ppl like that are just jealous or unhappy with themselves. We took the initiative to do something about our weight. Everyone here knows what you have to go thru to even get this surgery done. Its not an easy journey before or after. I believe if ppl out there knew what it really took to go this route, then they would stop saying its the easy way out. I dont consider this easy. My advice would be to just ignore the hurtful things and comments. You are taking control of your life and not them.
