Some people have reported this as a problem, although I have not experienced it myself. There is a product available, I think it is called Devrom or something like that. It is taken most often by people who have had ostomies. A pharmacist will probably be a good source of more info. As I understand, you take one capsule a day.

I know someone that had DS and this is a BIG problem for that person! I don't have it nearly as bad. You may or may not have it. Good luck!

I wanted to add that gut health is priority for anyone regardless of surgery. Certain foods can cause gas in different people and that can change before and after. I did a system cleanse with Cleanse More from Renew Life the month prior to surgery to prepare. I also take probiotics and digestive enzymes. These things promote a healthy gut with little to no gas unless certain foods trigger it

Piano, besides trying to mitigate things with probiotics and fiber capsules, we need to realize that everything will have stronger odors. Protein based diets make for smellier everything, especially if we're getting it from animal flesh instead of plant based protein.

I've said it here before, but think about how the lion and tiger enclosures at the zoo smell (carnivores), and how the zebra and giraffe pens (herbivore/vegetarians) smell. We have to be a little more mindful about hygiene, as everything; body odor, our breath, everything is changed by eating this much protein.

UpNorthGuy, I'm sorry you found my post about this very sensitive subject offensive. To clear the air, "PianoDiva" is a nickname bestowed by a friend many years ago after he heard me perform a fairly difficult concert.

As a lifelong professional musician, part of my job includes teaching many little ones how to play. That translates to a LOT of individual (one-on-one) piano lessons. This can also mean time sitting on the bench with them. I do not want to find myself in a potentially embarrassing situation, which is why I'm asking NOW, three weeks ahead of time, if I might expect this uncomfortable side effect to happen to me.
