let me know what you think Krista...I've wondered how those really worked...as i have such issues with walking I am somewhat timid to buy anything that throws me off balance, but maybe after some more weight comes off I can.
so please...do tell....

I absolutely love my sketchers shape-ups! One word of caution, they're not really good for cardio, like Richard Simmons tapes where you're taking a lot of little steps and footwork. They are perfect for walking. Takes a little bit of getting used to, since your foot rolls forward, but worth it.

I bought a pair of Avia Avi-Motion shape up walkers and I love them. It's too soon to see a result, but I needed new walking shoes, so why not try them. They're reall comfy.

I bought a pair from Target called Trim-Ups. They come in a black suede and a white leather for the low cost of $27.99. I walk every day and I think I feel like I have better posture and I can really feel it in my tush. There are reports there are no added benefits, but I say if it makes me feel better and I walk more, then I received a benefit.

Take it very slow until you know how sore you are the next day!

I have the Skeechers and I love them...you can tell when you wear them in places that the other walking shoes you can't.

My husband gave me a pair of the Sketcher Shape-ups for Christmas this past year and I absolutely love them. I would have lower back pain after walking for awhile and when I wear my Shape-ups my back does not bother me. Patricia is right though, take it slow and use them for walking. Good luck. HOpe they work out for you as much as they have for me!

I love that I can really pound the pavement with them and not beat up my feet. I have both an Easy Spirit pair and LA Fitness from Ross (15 bucks!). The Easy Spirits are leather, so better for cooler wet weather. The others are lightweight and breathe. Either way, I am hooked. Wouldn't pay the money for Sketchers, no how no way. For all of you folks who are on your feet all day, there is a brand of these shoes which are pricey but have a lifetime warranty. Sorry, cant remember the name, but a small price to pay to avoid the podiatrist.

My chiropractor says they are good for posture and those of us on our feet allday. I guess I need to invest in a pair. He says the sketchers and Aviamotion and those that are true rockers are better than the Reeboks which have a ball at the toe and heel and aren't as good of support for the whole foot.


The MBT's were the original ones made in Switzerland. Originally were around $200 a pair. I think they are down closer to $100 now.

I have $10 in Kohl's bucks and they have the Skeechers and Aviamotion ones there for around $80. I have been trying to decide if I want to spend $70 on them or not. Maybe I need to check out Supershoes.

Laura, I got the rocker ones, Champion brand, from Payless for $40, and if you use them for 90 days and decide you don't like them you can return them. I wore mine all day yesterday and they are extremely comfortable! I don't feel any difference in my legs, but I didn't do a lot of dedicated walking, just here and there, then changed my shoes to go bowling. :D

I have these trainers which were 90.00 pound. but so nice to have on
I also have Fit flops which if possible i would were everywhere as so comfortable to were i love them so much its strange as people don't like them much but do even though its turning yo winter i would still like to were them.

Okay I am envious. I can wear nothing but running shoes, 1 pair, still waiting for my ortho shoes.

Well, I wore them from Friday til yesterday and couldn't really tell any difference, other than they put you a little off balance and are extremely comfortably. This morning I do feel a little tightness in my calves and in my hamstring area, so maybe they're doing something after all.

I find that Rockport Walking Shoes, gutted and replaced with prescription Orthopod insoles (they have metal slants and bumps to force your foot to shape) have given me the best support and back relief.

I just bought three pair online this weekend!

Once I am down to my goal weight, I may consider footwear for style, but now I need comfort and support!
