I'm sorry that you are going thru such an up and down process. I don't know what I would do if I had success with loosing and they put off surgery. I had never had surgery and in truth I think it would be very very tempting to say...."okay...lets wait". The problem for me is that I could never keep the weight off, so it would just be a fear and anxiety head game for me personally. This is such a personal and major decision that I can completely understand your situation. I will be thinking of you as you continue to wrestle with what you think is the best choice for you!

U r human, and honestly I have had second thoughts right thru today!! This is a huge step, but well worth the hard work from most of those that have gone before us. I prayed for a specific sing and got it, done, sx went thru as planned :). Good luck.

I understand how you feel. I might feel the same if it happens to me.

One thing you may want to check into though. I of course don't know how your hospital and insurance works but my insurance has time limitations on how long the time is from when I do certain things and when surgery is done. Such as, if I don't have surgery within six months of my psyc eval, or weight management program, I would have to do it all again. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just suggesting you check so you can make an informed decision. I hope you all success in whatever you decide.

I was an expert at losing weight, however I failed miserably at keeping it off. That is what lead to my decision to have the surgery. Only you know what lead you to take the step toward surgey in the first place. Remember why you started down this path and then decide if postponing is in your best interest, this is a decision that only you can make. For me I know it's the best one I could have made. After 6 months I no longer have Sleep apnea, take no meds, have more energy and I'm down 92 lbs that I couldn't have done Preop by myself. I was blessed with no complications and have no regrets. I'm confident that you will find an answer within yourself that is right for you.

the thing you need to do IMHO is to think back about how many times you have tried the lose weight and failed...mine is too many to remember...im only assuming of course that you have tried and failed...i KNEW IN MY HEART AND MIND that i would never be able to do it on my own...i'll be honest...I HAVE NO WILLPOWER...and i think most of us would admit openly to that...I HAVE no regrets and WOULD do it again in an instant...

I am sorry that they pushed your date out... I hate to wait 3 extra months because I had another surgery I had to have first... But honestly that didn't sway my decision....
Like Sweden, I know how many times I tried to lose weight, would lose 20 or so pounds, and would put it right back on plus some....
For me, once I made the decision it was just a matter of waiting for the time to be right.....
Only you know what is right for you.... I hope you are able to get ahold of how you feel, and what you feel you need to do....

I think I have my head back on now......

Before my surgery in Sept/2012 they also called me to change my date due to surgeon had other things going on that day. I just took it as a sign that it was not the day for me to have my surgery...not that I shouldn't have it al all. I think being unsure and having second, third, and fourth thoughts about this is totally normal. But don't let this be the reason you do not have the surgery. Think about it and make the decision and choice that is best for you and you feel good about! Good luck!

Sweetheart I had more setbacks than a little bit and trust me I said if one more thing pops up I quit well another thing did pop up but because of the support of every one on this site I hung in there - and now I am on the losers bench and happy to be here. I think your surgeons office is wrong they should of at least given you a reason if nothing more than to put your mind at ease especially if it is something as trivial as scheduling conflicts. Like the others said please cover your back and and ask questions - make sure that their delay doesn't cause you to have to start over - because one missed visit with my insurance was grounds to do just that so I made sure I kept every one of them and never cancelled an appointment. If anything I let the owness of change be on them and not me.

Search your heart, if this is truly what you want then you need to stay on your game - you mentioned postponing to the summer, if you do that now it could potentially mean starting from scratch, do you really have that kind of time to start over? I would hate to see that happen.

I think at the end of the day you are just angry and disappointed because they delayed you - don't let the enemy win, you deserve your dream to come true - hang in there.
