Well I had the rf ablation yesterday and the ended up burning the endings on three nerves. Let me tell you it was the most terrible pain in my back and even though they numbed the nerves before burning the ends one of the nerves didn't respond to the numbing and for the 45 seconds it took to properly burn the nerve ending I felt all but maybe 10 seconds of it. It was a very intense horrible pain. The doctor told me that I will have some bad pain for about three days after the procedure and then some mild pain for 4-7 days after that. Then if everything works right the chronic intense pain I have been feeling should be greatly decreased. Needless to say I have been relying heavily on the pain medication and ice packs since the procedure was done yesterday afternoon. It caused some numbness in my leg and my hip actually gave out earlier today and I went down with a boom so that set me back to yesterday a bit. Plan on moving around more tomorrow. I can tell you that if this doesn't work I will not be going through it again and if it does work I am praying that it will work beyond having the gastric bypass surgery. For most people getting this procedure they will find relief anywhere from 6-12 months with the average being 9. I am so hoping it works and that it will last the 12 months and then even if I have to wait a full six months before getting the surgery I will still have close to six months left on the ablation which is plenty of time to take enough weight off my body to relieve the joints and spine. So I am looking at this as painful as it has been as a stepping stone to getting better.

thanks everyone today feels a little better so hopefully its all up from here. It is amazing what we will go through and put up with but then again my husband is a long haul truck driver so its not so much determination as I have to because I have a five year old that needs things. He needs me to get up get him food, clean his clothes and such believe me I'm not that strong if I didn't have to I don't think I could go on.
