Ok, we post our wow moments and all the great things that happen to us. This post is a little different, its about the post surgery stuff that happens that just stinks or is totally annoying. Mine falls into the latter category. I would love to hear yours ...
I love to sleep. Love it. And, considering I am at my desk at 6am every morning during the week, sleeping is really priority one. Now, even though I may love sleep, I have never been very good at it ... maybe because I had some mild sleep apnea. Anyway, the month or so after surgery I had noticed that I was waking up less at night and sleeping better. This is a good thing.
Except it has all gone to hell this last week - for some reason I now have to get up every single night between the hours of 1 and 2 to go to the bathroom. This is not something I ever was in the habit of having to do pre-surgery unless I had gone out and gotten hammered, but I digress.
Can I please tell you how badly this annoys me? I feel like my bladder belongs to an 80 year old. I want to give my bladder a pep talk:
Me: (at 2am) "Bladder, really, we are getting up in 2.5 hrs, cant this wait?"
Bladder: SQUEEZE
Me: Seriously? Right now? I dont want to get up.
Bladder" SSQQUUEEEEZZEE. Tough shit.
Me: HEY! Thats not ok, you arent the bowel.
Ridiculous, I say. Ridiculous.

they'll tell you this and that but lu's theory is that when we're fat slobs we have so much presssure on the bladder that it empties more. Now I'm old but I can tell you just relax take an extra 30 seconds and give it a last deal.
FYI you will not now true damage all that fat caused for a year or two. Ie joints, knees back etc.
In the meantime you'll constantly be changing for months to come.

So far, after the surgery, I haven't had to get up at night to go.
