Okay, countdown to my new life Im on my last two days of my liquid diet, and these last two are clear liquid. I cant say oh, joy! but it is part of my programs process, which I embrace, endure, and cant wait for the next stage! Monday morning surgery, here I come!
Ive done my research, Ive read some amazing books that have been recommended on this forum, and I still have books I havent gotten to read yet - well this is for the rest of my life, so I will get to them.
My favorite so far is A Course in Weight Loss, 21 Spiritual Lessons by Marianne Williamson. Not everything in this book applies to me but, Oh My Gosh, there were several points that really hit home. I think I have a great start on the head work. I know that the head work is a life-long learning experience, but this book really got me off to an excellent beginning for the rest of my new life. It really made me think and evaluate my life so far and gave me answers that I didnt even know I was searching for.
There were several, but one of my favorite quotes from this book: Its less important how quickly you lose weight, and more important how holistically you lose weight; you want your mind, your emotions, and your body to ALL lose weight.
I suggest to any pre-ops who have not dug deep to find out why you are in the position you are in, to really get started on the head stuff to make this surgery a successful tool for the rest of your life. Okay, Ill get off my soapbox now
I still have to work tonight, then go into town and spend the night in a hotel Sunday night, then early Monday morning, Off to the Hospital I Go, Hi Ho, Hi Ho, Hi Ho. (you can hear the music, cant you?) Then after Im released from the hospital on Tuesday, I have to stay in town until Friday because where I live, the trip to the hospital if anything went wrong with my RNY, would take too long. So staying in town is just a precaution. The worst part is having to pack everything I may need for after being released and my stay in town.
Thank you all for being here!!! I cant say that enough. And please say a prayer for me and QPDoll, our surgeries are on the same day, and warm up our spots on the bench!

WOW! You don't have to stay 2 nights? THat's great. I do...
I did have to reschedule my surgery for 6 weeks from now.
But, I still consider us "surgery buddies", you can just give me your good tips, so when its my time, I will be all set!!
