Question? About eating to much

On a normal day I eat 4x a day and about 2-3 oz at each meal. For some reason when I'm by myself I eat a extra meal and snack. I know its a bordom thing and I'm stopping myself as of now. What I'm wondering is does anyone else do this and do u have any tips how to not snack. I'm three month out and my surgeon says to eat 5 meal a day but that's to much for me.

I have days when I graze like that. I find the more active I am the less I eat. I am also keeping track of what I eat and how many calories I eat each day. I joined MyFitnessPal! It is a great site! if you join my user name is LisaRockett

I keep track of everything.. food, vitamins, liquids and exercise. I tried the myfitnness but I don't like having to get online everytime I eat so I keep track of it in a notebook. I might try it again....

I've not had surgery yet... But for me, if I eat 5 or 6 small meals a day, I tend to NOT overeat because I am always eating anyways! They are just smaller (of course!) portions/meals.

I too track everything. I use loseit.com... But agree, many days I think I'd rather just go back to the old fashioned way of pen and paper! LOL!

I use my fitness pal. But with a twist. I plan my meals and snacks for the day ahead of time, make sure that they stay in the allowed amounts by writing them in a journal first, then checking them off as I eat them. At the end of the day I take my notebook and put them into the log online along with my exercise for the day. It keeps me accountable in three ways. First, by planning out what I am going to have in a given day. Second, by writing in a journal and checking off what I eat in a given day. Finally third, by putting into the journal online so that I see the actual numbers. Planning ahead worked for me today as I had my first holiday party and I was able to look up the menu at the restaurant ahead of time and plan my meals accordingly. So while everyone else was deciding what they wanted to eat I already knew yesterday because I planned out today yesterday and planned out tomorrow today etc. You get the picture. If you stray a little bit that's ok put it in your written journal and at the end of the day put it online.
