Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. So far, every low carb, low sugar protein bar I have fried tastes like ass and feet. I figure protein is a must: you don't have to dig it, just have to do it. YMMV Good luck on finding a good one.
You do not have to compromise taste. I also use protein bars probably once a week. The trick to finding a good protein bar is reviewing sugar alcohols and carbs, and ensure that they have over 20g of protein. I use Pure Protein (which is available at WalMart and Sam's- -thank you Alysha and Joy) and these ones are pretty tasty. The bars that were recommended to me come in a variety pack (Chocolate Deluxe, Chewy Chocolate Chip, and Chocolate Peanut Butter) they range from 180-200 calories but each bar has 20g of protein.
Good luck and check with your nutritionist about your guidelines.
I really like the oh yeah bars, but when i look at the fat and calories, im like really? they want us to eat these.....? as long as they dnt pack on weight i will eat them, im just worried...

Good Luck finding stuff you enjoy,

I have bought many, many bars but they sit there after a bite (too hard, too assfooty (TM Steve Davis), too chemical tasting. I am particularly looking forward to the fudge tasting ones.
Great protein bars. My favorite is Choc Cookie Dough! I use when out for the day. They are delicious and filling...
I use the Nashua Nutrition site and sample all sorts of things. I used the fruity flavored protein drinks all summer when I got to the point where I just couldn't get another fake chocolate shake down my throat.
I like that I can see the nutrition information before I even order it.
