Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

I have some now that work for me. They are called NuGo Slim Bars. They have 180 calories, 15 grams of protein, 2 grams of sugar, 6 grams of fat and 21 grams of carbs. They are not part of my regular eating. I get the ones that are chocolate flavored so mostly I use them when I am having a chocolate craving. And typically I only have half a bar at a time. They are very dense and filling.
My favorite are the Quest bars, but they are very dense. I usually microwave it for 10 secs to soften, but that doesn't work on the go (unless you have a microwave in your car...) I use them at work when I am crazy hungry at the end of the day and know it will be 1-2 hours until I can get home and fix dinner. We do have a microwave at work.
Think Thin bars - Brownie Crunch, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Fudge are all fabulous. They have about 200 calories, 20 g protien, less than 5 g sugar and fat. Low carb.
Supreme Protien bars - They sell HUGE ones and SMALL ones, I get the small size (which is really a regular size I think). These are 20 g protien, less than 5 sugar and 5 fat and low carb. The Peanut Butter and the Caramel flavors are like eating a candy bar.
* Pure Protien bars - these are pretty good, but have a little more of a protien bar type taste compared with the other ones. I still eat them once in awhile at 18 g protien, less than 5 sugar and 5 fat.
These are the only ones I have come across that fit with my Dr. and Nutritionist guidelines and taste like something edible.
Good luck!
I bought the peanut butter/chocolate one and strawberry cheesecake one. Both were yummy. I am looking forward to Sept 11 2012 when it will be three months and I can try one post op!
