Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Hang in there and stay with your plan it will happen! The numbers will roll down again!
On my down days... the days I wanted to quit... I'd ask myself "What am I quitting? A healthier lifestyle? And what would I be doing if not this?" I never much cared for the answer I got... so I just kept on moving forward :)
((HUGS)) to you! You can do this!
I should learn to throw away my scale. Not a bad idea for you too :)
My support group leader says that when you reach a plateau, stop and think back to when you were this weight before, what happened in your life to make you unhappy? What were you feeling then. Address those feelings and issues if there were some. Let them go, release them. After your held is clear of those old files, it will move on and release the weight from that time period.
Sounds a little odd, but they deal with enough people that there must be some science behind it or they would not bring it up.
Another thing I will mention, and I know I have said it before, but try going Gluten Free. Two years ago I would have poo poo'ed the idea of something as common as flour could be making my fat, but I have since learned different. I dropped 18 lbs by simply going GF. I did not cut calories, fat, amount of food, just gluten. And it may my intestinal health 2000 times better. Less bloating, gas, and waste. Gluten is also said to cause a lot of depression, as when your gut is not happy, you are not happy. I beg you to give it a try to 2 weeks and see what happens. Most grocery chains have a ton of GF items, and google GF recipes and you will find unlimited ideas. Anyway, what can it hurt to try? If it doesn't work, you will be able to tell me I am crazy, but if it does work, you will be losing again. :)
Good luck!
I also agree with golden rivers... I am almost 100 percent gluten free at this point... And on the RARE, and I mean rare occasion that I eat something with gluten in it, it is very minimal... I truly think this has helped me....
I don't lose weight quickly.... And I do know that once a month I bloat up... I stay away from the scale when I am bloated.. It will not be my friend.... And I also try to stay away from salt.. I used to salt everything.. Not anymore....
There are a lot of wonderful spices out there that can flavor food... Mrs. Dash makes several that my husband uses....
I am sorry you are still struggling so much.. Don't you dare give up.... You can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just don't let the 2 lbs become 20 lbs.
Keep moving foward and doing all the good things you should be doing and soon we'll hear how you've lost the 2 lbs plus more.
Good luck!
