I dont see why that question would offend anyone! I have thought about the same thing! My insurance will cover a tummy tuck and new boobs if i would like. Which I am obviously going to take advantage of! I guess everyone is different! Im all for the altering!

Thank you Navywife and i am so glad that was not a ridiculous question. Whewwwwwwwwww, Well I don't know if I will need the new boobs then again maybe I will cause these girls will probably be a hot mess after the surgery. I am just praying that as my weight goes they will too because I can't see me walking around with a tiny waist and boobs ninety going north. Oh well thanks for the response. So many questions, this doctors appointment is definitely going to be a Q & A session.

I have quite a lot, personally.

I went from 305lbs to 159lbs in 11 months. I have sagging on my arms, thighs, boobs, and stomach. I'd like to have surgery eventually.

I'm in Canada so I can't talk about insurance.

I am already saving for a lower body lift( tummy tuck, thigh lift, butt lift), breast lift, and brachioplasty just in case. I have also started researching plastic surgeons. :)

I have tons of hanging skin. My surgeon says there is approximately 20 to 30 lbs of excess skin that has to be removed.

My insurance will pay for it but I have to be 2 years out. I'm just 10 months out so I have a little while before I can have my surgery for skin removal.

I'm just started to run and the excess hanging skin gets in the way so it will be great when I can have it removed!!

I agree, your question is just fine! I am hoping to avoid surgery for extra skin, but will cross that bridge if it is a problem. I doubt that my insurance will cover it.

Yes excess skin is a natural part of the process. I am not personally in any hurry to get anything nipped or tucked. I'd rather have a baggy skin suit that a fat suit. If my insurance ever decides to cover it I might consider it then

I'm starting to have excess skin and exercise will not get rid of it. Some insurances will cover the surgery if you are having repeated yeast infections in the folds area. Otherwise most companies will not pay for it but it always nice to check with your insurance. Good luck. debby

I have excess skin but its not really to bad. Except i think my butt has too much because when Im in the car and i go round a corner i slide off it sometimes. lol :) Its kindof like having a pillow under there only its attached. I carried alote of weight there and in my belly though to be serious the rest of me just looks a little wrinkeled now.

my WL surgeon told me, "I can make you look good with your clothes on, but to look good with with your clothes off, thats a job for the plastic surgeons" :)

I have loose skin on my arm... Don't mind it too much yet. My tummy is not bad at all either. But what I can't stand is what no body me sees my inner thighs :-/ I HATE the way the skin folds. I do plain on surgery eventually but like my RNY I will be self paying. Oh and the boobies... They were never to big to begin with :-)~ so they are still ok but Id still like to get them done :-)

Well I will see how it goes with the excess skin issue - it is to be expected i guess but as long as i can get healthy i will take my chances. If push comes to shove and my insurance pays for it - then i will have it done. Time will tell - if not then i will get use to a healthier yet saggy me. 115lbs lost. My skin looks like a rhino or elephant around my stomach, thighs and back side. Plastic Surgeon in my area said the full waist band tuck would be $15,000 with all the hospital and anesthesia fees. Then he said to do the inner thighs would be another $9,000. My insurance will not cover it unless the overlapping skin is so severe it's causing infections or constant rashes. I have to admit, it's been rough for me. Going through all of this hard work for the past 18 months and my stomach looks like an elephants ass. I think for me, I've decided that I've damaged my body enough by getting so over weight and then having surgery to lose it that there's a level of self acceptance that has to happen. We all have different levels to reach that acceptance.
