Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. I haven't been posting much and there has been a whole lot going on here with everyone. So this is a post to encompass all sorry it's so generic just been trying to get the house and family in order for when I have surgery in about six weeks or so.
To all of you that have just had surgery and are going into surgery good luck and I wish you the speedy recovery we all want. May your medical team be quick, safe and amazing for you all.
For all of you celebrating some achievement of some kind or another I say congrats and keep up the good work. It doesn't matter if it is spiritual, physical or something else we all deserve positive in our lives.
For those of you ailing and in need of prayer just know that each night I pray for everyone here on this board you have all become like a second family to me I pray that everyone stays safe, heals and gets well.
For those of you that have just joined this wonderful group welcome. This is a great place for support and knowledge. I have yet to see a topic that wouldn't be discussed and everyone here no matter what stage they are at are most helpful and caring.
As for me, I have the last pre-op visit with the surgeon next Tuesday. I have my first appointment with the dietitian on that day as well. I am going to be having the final test needed for insurance approval either this week or next will know more tomorrow when that will be scheduled and that is a nuclear stress test. Just the words scare the living daylights out of me but it is the last hurdle before submitting to insurance. I have been organizing and doing things in the house and around the house to make things easier for those that are going to help and for me during healing. My husband is getting more and more excited about it and is very supportive along with other members of my family. I've been struggling with episodes of severe pain in my lower back and hip but have often struggled with that. Anyhow hope everyone takes care and may God bless you all.

Don't be afraid of the sound of Nuclear Stress Test..I actually perferred it. It is fast and simple and you just lay back after they inject you and then a few minutes they inject the stuff that neutrilizes the first part. Then that part is over. Then only thing I felt was a headache for about a minute. That was it.
I will keep you in prayer for a good outcome for the test and also that everything goes smoothly quickly and you get your approval and surgery date soon. Best wishes. debby
