Well I finally got the nerve to post some pictures the other day of me Now and one as a teenager before all the weight. I don't like taking pictures unless they are head shots but I am trying to work my way up to at least one full body shot before the surgery. My sister took one of me and hubby during the holiday and it made me cry profusely because even though I look at myself everyday - I never saw myself as that out of control, man did that picture bring it all home. I don't know about the rest of you but I truly didn't like what I saw and as scared as I am about this surgery, I'm determined to get it done. They are all supportive from a distance and hubby seems to be pulling back from the idea some. I pray thats all in my head because I can't get through this without his support. 101 things keep going through my mind of things that might or could go wrong - one minute I am okay the next I'm a nutty fruitcake with no spine. I read all the success stories, I'm encouraged by everyone who has gone before me and succeeded in loosing the weight yet my nerves are getting the best of me. I am not handling this well or am I? Is this normal cause this flipping back and forth is causing me to loose sleep. Not to mention all the bouts of tears - why am I crying so much lately? Good Grief I am going to need therapy before the surgery if this keeps up lol. God help me please!!!!!
Bear in mind that the by-product of fast weight loss in women is more estrogen flooding their system. That alone can make women very emotional after surgery. I have read that some will just start crying while watching TV for no real reason at all.
So therapy isn't a bad thing.
On a note in regards to your hubby... I think (I am pre op too...) they are going thru a lot too. My hubby is supportive, but every so often he says something not so supportive which I have translated into hes scared for me... So, as much as we need them here for us, I think we got to remember to reassure them we are here for them too.
If I have to be tough for someone else, it also usually helps me get a grip on my own turmoil.
