Hello everyone! It has been quite a long time since I've posted in here. I am 2-1/2 years post-op now and lost a total of 124 pounds where I have maintained. That wasn't my lowest weight, but it is where my weight settled. I never felt better!
However, I am now pregnant. Yay! This is actually my 3rd pregnancy, but I lost the first 2. I am 13 weeks now and this is the furthest I've made it, so I am hopeful this one will go full term! The problem I'm having is, I have been taking a dose of baby aspirin each day since I found out I was pregnant. It is coated and I always take it with food of some kind (even if it's just fruit or a cup of yogurt). I've been seeing a Hematologist since about 6 months after surgery because my iron levels were so low and vitamins alone weren't helping. The Hematolgist actually suggested trying the aspirin to help with the pregnancy and said it should be ok even though I've had gastric bypass as long as I took the coated kind and took it with food.
Yesterday afternoon I ate a few pretzels to settle my stomach and I got sick (baby can't ever decide what she wants! lol). When I vomited, I noticed that there was twinges of what looked like blood. It wasn't a lot, but it was there. I'm pretty sure it was blood because I hadn't eaten or drank anything red since the morning, and even then it was strawberries. I have occasionally also noticed some heartburn, but not bad and not for very long - I'm not sure if it's pregnancy related or because of the aspirin.
Anyone ever had this experience?

I did call and talk to a nurse and she said to keep an eye on it and if it happens again that I should be checked out by the GI doc. She also said the aspirin was ok, as long as it's coated and taken with food.
