Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. This morning when I began my first class, I told my students we were going to practice positive affirmations. We went around and told what we liked about each person in the room and then what we liked about ourselves.
Then, this evening when I went to my Mary Kay meeting, we discussed positive affirmations.
Our mind is a very complicated tool and it is important that we tell it what to think. "You are beautiful, skinny, fabulous, outstanding, inspiring, awesome, amazing, lovely, handsome, gorgeous, all that and a bad of chips" All you have to do is train your brain! Look in the mirror and tell yourself what you want to believe and you will achieve it!

My son (he's 17) was reading to me off this paper the other day all these things his classmates had said about him... One of his teachers had all the students put their name at the top of a piece of paper and pass it around the class. Everyone had to write something on it they liked about the student whos paper it was. It was great! My son really likes that paper... I told him to tuck it away in his binder so when he was having a bad day he could pull it out and reread it to make him feel better... GREAT IDEA! :) :)
