I am not sure what this pain is from. When I swallow, it starts hurting at my chest and as travel dowm. Has this happen to anyone?

Are you chewing really good? Small bites? Is it bread or anything doughy? Sometimes if I eat too fast ill get pain starting in the chest. Call the dr.

I thought that at first, however it does it when I drink. I am going to slow down a little today see if that helps. Thank you!!!

I am sure no expert on this (yet) lol, but I read that teeny tiny sips at first and walking. Hope this gets better for you.

What type of Surgery did you have, if it is Lap Band, it could be spasms, some women have issues swallowing after Lap Band it could also be your band is too tight, but it can be a real problem, so I would call your Doc.

If you had RNY it could be your eating to fast or not chewing like My3Sons625 said. Sometimes if I dont chew well enough food will get stuck in my throat or stomach on the way down

I had that in the hospital, and still get it on occasion... My doc said as long as it passes (the liquid) quickly, it's a 'normal part of the healing process'. There's so much to figure out after this surgery!

I believe it is part of the healing process. I did call my doctor'office and spoke with the nurse that what she said. I have an doctor apppointment on Thursday, for two week check-up.

i too have had this problem but only with certain foods it' really painful sometimes, all i do is monitor what i eat and work out which foods are causing me pain and leave them out of my daily diet hope this is helpful too you x
