Keep drinking. Walking and breathing fresh air helped me BIG TIME. Cleared the head. Talk with your medical posse about pains. I just posted a yummy protein drink IMHO would be great for newbees on my blog this AM, just mentioned it on the protein & water thread (had a sample for breakfast yesterday) ask your medical posse about it. It was very yummy.
Hugs and remember most of us (within 4 months or so) say we'd do it all again in a nano second (even the rough weeks)

While terrible, you do need to concentrate on the water and the protein. Keep searching for your protein (yogurt, milk with skim milk, decaf tea with half milk, cheese - and Eggface's cheesebites) saved my life. I have started putting two scoops of protein powder in pudding with soy milk. It works.
I had buyer's remorse, too, seriously. At week six, I am just starting to see the corner on what was a pretty painful and scary time. Have faith that it is a hoop and that you must just jump through it.
Drink water, take protein, get through the next month.
It will get better.
Feel better soon!
HUGS to YOU
That said, I understand the buyers remorse you are experiencing. I am a month out, dealt with multiple complications, and am still struggling to get the water & protein in. But it's gotten better every day. The first 2 wks I could not do the protein (mine was clear - Isopure), it felt icky in my pouch and made me nauseous. After asking the question about how much damage I was doing to myself at my support gp, I was told to let go of the protein until I could get the required amt of fluid down. I checked with my surgeon, and he supported this. Home made chicken broth save me I think (helped keep my electrolytes balanced and wasn't sweet. Keep looking for the protein supplement that will work for you. I had to try several before I found 1 that works. I asked for suggestions from folks on this board & several sent me the names of companies that sent samples for me to try. Someone also suggested that my issue might be the milk I was mixing it into. I switched to almond milk and my gut is now a happier place.
I'm on soft foods now and am no where near able to take in my protein requirements with my 1/4 cup meals. But man, am I enjoying them! Eating something resembling food gives me a much needed sense of normalcy. Light at the end of the tunnle... I have faith that sooner, rather than later, I will feel less like a post-op recovering patient, but myself. Reminding myself that today is better than yesterday and that this early recovery phase is temporary. Sending you {{hugs}} and hope and good vibes!
The back pain- DITTO!! This is actually the ONLY pain I ever had and used my pain pump for!! It's from the CO2 and anesthesia. The more you can walk and keep your blood and gases moving- the faster the pain goes away. I am going on 4 weeks and my shoulders still get tight with exercise!
Hang in there! It's ok!
Did you try sugar free jello? That helped me too.
than all of us before you. There is no way to sugar coat
the first three months, it is simply about doing the best you can while trying to get to know your pouch. I feel your pain and misery little girl, and would only hope you realize how close you are the that life God intended for YOU to live.
I wish you peace.
