Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Cottage cheese, chicken, turkey, seafood (including shrimp, crab, and fish), eggs, beans, and even tofu were all on my program after the first week of liquids.
I didn't get oatmeal until 4 months out (it tends to be higher in carbs than we need in the early stages). Remember, when your body doesn't get all the carbs it wants, it converts stored fat to energy. When it doesn't get enough protein, it also takes it from your stores...your muscles!! Unless you are getting 70 grams of protein a day, I encourage you not to waste your pouch space on anything except protein.

Take care.
I now like all nuts better than peanuts, but, I do eat toffee peanuts when I need a sweet. (smoked almonds are ridiculous! and I never ate pistachios before, but, now I can't live without them. lol)
