Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

I have often thought on this 11 month journey and now being almost 3 weeks out from surgery... What other jobs are out there? Should I finally finish my education? Will I be taken more seriously as a normal sized person? I guess those are questions I will have to explore the answers to.
On the positive side, at least your position is not being cut completely, you have a chance at a different full time position, and best of all, you have plenty of time to look for something new if this doesn't fall into place. Good luck, it will all work out!
Look on the bright side: since you don't eat under stress you may loose more weight than usual. :-)) More seriously, you can look at this as a chance to recreate yourself. Maybe pursue a new line of work that you would enjoy more. Even if you stay in the same line of work, a new job is always good. It keeps us young. Learning new things and adjusting to new habits is good for the mind and the body. A fresh start can be so wonderful if you create it to be.
I bet when all is said and done you will look at all of this as a blessing. I know that may be hard to see now but believe it.
And, please do take care of yourself. Stay healthy and treat yourself like the princess that you are. :-))
