Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I find when I add veggies, I tend to lose a little more... I also work out three times a week (with a coach in the water), and once or twice at home on the WII... And those times are for a solid 20 to 25 minutes on the WII... I was advised to much more was too much..
I am sure if I get to where you are at, I will be posting the same kind of story... But hang in there... At least you are still losing some... I guess some of lose slower than others...
Not sure what weight you started at, but I was also told that because I was a "light weight" I would lose slower.... And I am not having skin hang either.... So I try to remember that when I feel I am not losing quickly enough...
I am 6 months out and my weight loss is also starting to slow down...I think we lose so quickly right after surgery that we begin to expect that it will be like that permanently. Even prior to surgery any doctor would tell you that weight loss should be 1 to 2 pounds a week.
You did not put in your post where you started at or how much you have lost to date or how long ago your surgery was.
Remember to stay focused on the long term goal and remember that everyone on this site has experienced some of the same things you are going through.
Try to enjoy the process..do workouts you enjoy or maybe try doing something different... Remember to Breath In..Breath out.. and venting is a "good thing" it re-focuses our energy..
