Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.

I went to a few graduation parties this past week and grazed the entire time!! Not proud of it, but it's done and over, so moved on.
Surprisingly, everything I ate caused no discomfort!
I even had a glass of wine with zero effects.
Father's Day was great. My husband is Chinese-American, so (as usual) we went to dim sum with the only 2 (of our 5) kids who still live nearby -- and of course - their families. It really does not bother me to go out. When I'm full - I stop - and do not WANT more -- no feeling of deprivation.
Anyway, afterwards, my husband and I went to a movie. SUCH A JOY TO NOT HAVE TO "TWIST AND WIGGLE DOWN" INTO (& UP OUT OF) THE SEAT!!!!
I was really craving good ice cream. I ordered the smallest dish of one of their specialties. And I ate less than half of it.
Within 10 minutes I had (what must be) Dumping Syndrome. 9 months post op and this was the first time for me. So - so painful. I learned my lesson!
I am still struggling with getting in my liquids & protein in...Diffculty with the mental and emontional Cravings and wantings...I am in need of support, someone who understands. You can tell people all day til your blue in the face but at the end of the day, they won't understand you complety ...
I am at the same spot as you - losing the hair, etc. Taking 10,000 mcg of Biotin, and using nioxin shampoo. It has helped (a little). However, my thing is that all of the sudden I am able to eat more and it's scaring me. I'm also on a major plateau....
Calgon - take me away !!!
LOL
More to the point, I've still been getting smaller this last half a year and stronger. I had mobility issues and am now walking better with the weight backed off. Now my focus is to get a new walker, my old one is breaking down, and get my stamina up to hit the State Fair in a month. I can finally wear my dog out on a walk again. Yay! (She's only a little one, with short legs, so it's not like running along side a real dog, but it's a good start)
After that, we'll maybe see about improving my knees and foot to where I don't need the walker. At least the doctors will talk to me now that I've lost the weight. They refused to even look at my knees when I was at my heaviest.
Thanks again Chocolate. This is a great idea girl!
