So I'm working at my desk today, minding my own business, and my boss comes over and says, 'Can you come see me for 5 minutes in my office?' and I'm like, 'Sure.' and grab a pad and pen, thinking he's going to give me something to do.
I walk in and he closes the door and says, 'Have a seat.' and I'm like, 'Ummm.. okay.' and I'm getting nervous because he's kind of intimidating to begin with and I always get nervous when he does things like that (personally I think he knows he makes us nervous and does it to make us squirm for his entertainment LOL)
So I sit down and he says, 'So how're you doing?' and I say, 'I don't know, you tell me what's going on and I'll let you know.' and I see him put a piece of paper in front of him on the table that says, 'Personnel Action' and I'm thinking, 'Oh hell.. am I about to get fired or did I do something to get myself in trouble???'
He explained to me that he was giving me more responsibilities with the company (we had a talk a few weeks ago and I asked for more to do - I know.. crazy me can't stand to sit there with nothing to do, I get bored too easily). So anyway, he tells me that along with these new responsibilities comes a nice raise, like $3000/yr, because he had promised me he would try to get me more money during that earlier talk, and he said I do a great job and they want me to stay.
It made me feel so good, because there are days when I'm done doing what I'm supposed to do and I don't have anything to do and I kind of feel like I'm not pulling my weight, but I'm just an efficient person and get everything done fast, so it felt really good to hear that they thought I did a good job and didn't want to lose me. Him following through on his promise really showed me that he wanted to keep me there.
Sooooooo.. I GOT A RAISE! I GOT A RAISE! And it couldn't have come at a better time because with the stricture procedures I had to pay out of pocket for, I've been playing catch-up since February and I've been getting kind of frustrated with my money situation, the extra money will definitely help me getting caught back up.
Anyway, I just wanted to share.. I have to keep it kinda quiet at work so I had to try to hide my enthusiasm until I got home and could tell someone.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

Seriously though, I do find he's a little more social as I lose weight and start to look more 'normal'. He's always been a very good, considerate, respectful, cool boss, I don't ever see him doing anything like hitting on anyone. Thank God! :D
I can absolutely say without any qualms that I love my job and want nothing more than to stay there, and the money thing was making me second guess things, glad he took care of that for me.
