I am down just about 100 pounds since I started my journey back in may. I have found that my butt hurts when I sit for any length of time in a chair that is not very cushioned. My work chair and a movie seat are two good examples. I guess it is due to less "padding" on my butt now? Does anyone else have this issue? What do you do, carry a pillow or chair cushion with you?

I feel your pain! LOL We just got back from a 7-hour car trip last week, and I had the same problem! Maybe I need a new car! I'll be checking back to see what advice people have for this "problem". :)

Oh Yeah!!! I got this too. I think you're right.....the padding is less back there. I try to keep moving and avoid sitting. It's hard to do at work so I try to get up as often as possible at work and stretch out.

I keep getting up out of my seat at work and moving around. I might have to invest in one of those gel/foam pillows they sell on tv

No disrespect, but yau'll are scaring the crap out of me to be honest, does the weight loss take all your butt cheeks away? Will there be no cushion at all? Okay I'm about to log off cause somethings just freak me out while I wait on the other side of surgery. I'm trying to educate myself and learn somethings in preparation, but sometime I think knowing to much ahead of the game can become very frightening. I'm still in chicken mode I guess lol, God help me.

BTW I pray you all comfort and if the gel pillow helps I say rush out and get one - comfort is very important.

I'm still pre op, but I was reading about this problem on another thread awhile back...

Several people mentioned that their doc said to do exercised for your butt, like buns of steal, and it will build up the muscles back there, cushioning your hind end :)

Believe me there was plenty of padding before surgery and in my opinion there still is quite a bit back there LOL. While mildly uncomfortable it really is not a bad problem to have!
