Okay I know this is on the personal side and I ask your indulgence. I can't be the only one who has had this rather intimate NSV, so I don't feel ashamed in sharing it. I have been married now for 30 years and when I first met my husband I was a size 18. Suffice it to say we had some pretty fantastic times in the beginning and were really in sync with one another. Over the years and as a result of the weight gain, things were still good but alot of effort had to be made for things to click just right. I am trying to say this without being overly graphic, hoping you are all still with me. I am now 28 pounds shy of 100 pounds weight loss and I have to tell you that all of the effort has been removed and my husband said quote "wow honey, lately I am reminded of that young girl I met 30 years ago when we are in those intimate moments" Your body is amazing and it's like a total rebirth of your erogenous zone" At first I didn't know whether to be insulted or thrilled, but he's right. I am having all kinds of dreams and sexual desire lately that I thought were gone forever. I don't know about the rest of you but at 51 this is good news. LOL.
As a married woman one of the things that I have always mentored to younger couples is that sex is the icing on the cake and not the cake. In short don't build your whole relationship based on sex because as you grow older and your body changes you will need more than intimacy to hold your marriage together. I still stand by that because trust me between mine and my husbands weight, I'm thrilled we had a sound foundation to draw from when things slowed down in the bedroom. Today I find myself giving thanks to God for more than a few reasons and one of them is the restoration of, well you know............ lol.
Just out of curiosity has anyone else gone through this re-awakening process. I would really feel better knowing that I am not the only newborn freak out here roflmaooooooo and if I am oh well, I'll just have to be.

You know without a shadow of a doubt that you are loved when your husband looks at you like your the only woman on earth for him when you are at your heaviest but it is such a tremendous boost to your ego when you can see that twinkle in his eyes as you melt away - it's a new fire, a new sense of urgency in that newness.
My husband is the old fashion type of man who always meets me outside when I am coming home - after 30 years he still opens the car door and escorts me to and from the house. The other night when he met me downstairs and he opened the car door for me i noticed he was lingering behind me instead of walking by my side - then he said hey baby the view back here is awesome, you are really slimming down - i have to tell you i blushed so hard. My prayer is that you all experience those feelings and always know this kind of love - blessings
Same here Thepbourn- not my husband yet ( getting married after I lose my weight- my decision-not his) has always accepted me big small and in between...lol. So I do know how that is. Being married for 30 yrs is an accomplishment in itself these days. I hope I can say that in the future :)
