I am always cold and have been since I was born. (I was actually born fifthteen degree below average) but for the last few months I have been cold constantly and I use a heating pad at night I've been using it for several years due to stomach and back pain. About two weeks ago I woke up with a burn on my stomach from my heat pad. I though it was just a counscidence but today I woke up with a large burn on my stomach. I dont feel the heating pad it barely feels warm to me. My last blood test showed everything was good. I take thyroid medicine, Dr. Says my levels are normal. Has any body else had issues with being cold, or not feeling heat. I'm definitely going to talk to my Dr. Because not feeling a burn happening can't be normal. Also hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.

Hey hon,

I don't know about NOT Feeling warmth or cold, but I have circulation issues in my feet and legs, and I use a heating pad on my back.

I keep mine on low, and always have something in between the heating pad and my skin.

THese can heat up fast, and I've seen my Mom's skin, from too much use from a heating pad, she had actually burned her skin!!!! And, I know of a woman, that got 3rd degree burns from a heating pad, so please be careful, as I am doing too.

It's a comfort on MY back, so I know what you mean, but if we have any numbness, it's hard to feel it, I agree.

My sister had a problem with her heating pad burning her--AND sett8ng her bed on FIRE! I never use ine in bed- I use a microwaveable pack that helps when i get into bed but that cools off as I sleep so it can not be hazardous! Good Luck finding the cause!

Heating pads can burn easy. Not suppose to keep them on a spot for to long or on exposed skin! Also with surgery they cut through layers of skin and muscle so it takes awhile to get the nerve endings back to normal. I would switch to a heated blanket!

I freeze all year round. The wife is always hot so the A/C is freezing cold all summer and I have to go outside to warm up. In the winter once it gets cold nuff to fire up the wood stove I win! Before that the house is cold
I got an electric blanket for Christmas last year. Love it!
In the summer I keep a hoodie handy and I dress in heavy clothes all winter. I think most of us feel the freeze when we lose the layers of fat that kept us warm!
Heating pads can be dangerous especailly if you go to sleep with them on you.

Thanks everyone for your replys. I do have a heating blanket on my bed as well. And my very warm puppy!! I've tried to sleep without the heating pad but I'm so cold I start shivering. My heating pad shuts off after a hour and once I'm sleeping I'm okay. But all day I'm freezing. I couldn't imagine living somewhere where it snows and freezes =) I'm always careful with the heating pad and heat blanket.my moms house burnt down because of a heat blanket.
