Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. I deal with depression daily and the only thing that helps me is to stay really busy and surround my self with positive thinkers.
I will say a pray for you to feel better soon
As soon as I was able to have solid food I started eating lotsa "All Bran" cereal. Also take a stool softener 3 times a day. Still have trouble if I don't get a lot of water. I think water will help a lot. specally in the first weeks.
And depression.... I have been very depressed since the surgery... Actually just went back on happy pills and have an appointment with a counselor tomorrow....
I think for me, I had NOOOOOO clue what this surgery was going to entail.... I am not sorry that I had it all, but all of a sudden, I am different, I feel different, and I don't know who I am anymore... It's a total lifestyle change... The things I used to do, (go out to the bars, out to dinner, etc. etc. etc.) are no longer a part of my life.... My true friends don't care about those things, but many people have walked out of my life in the last four months.. I guess I got boring... And I know one is very jealous that I went through this....
I don't work and have a lot of time on my hands.. And that is never good... Getting stuck in my head is a tough place to be.... I really have to work to be grateful for all the blessings that I have, and I am doing that...
Hang in there Amy.... I am here if I can help you in anyway.... You can do this!!!!!!!!!
