Hi . . . Just thought that Id finally get in the group, and it seems like a wonderful group. Ill admit Ive been lurking while Ive been doing my research. You all are so informative, its great.
Just as a quick intro, Im 52, have been overweight most of my adult life, but I can still remember back to those high school days when I played volleyball and basketball and was too active to be overweight. Then sedentary lifestyle took over, college, desk job, emotional eating from divorce, and just plain laziness. Unfortunately, I was not blessed with children, but I have great family members that I love and who love me. I am also the youngest of five and have many nieces, nephews and the next level down from them, all who are unique in their own way.
I have been on my RNY journey for six months now. For insurance purposed, I needed one psych visit, done; going to my physiologist and nut for six months straight, just finished; have to lose 10% of total body weight, still 5 pounds away, and then my doctors office can submit to the insurance.
Also, I live in a small community in western Montana, beautiful country but our local hospital is not equipped for this type of surgery so Im 65 miles from my doctor. Needless to say, even the bigger city is still considered a rural setting and they have very sporadic support group meetings. So in my search, I have found you all and am very happy with how you all interact and really support each other and educate each other.
