Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Please let me know if I can be of any help to you.. I am 7 months out of surgery, and have lost a total of 103 pounds... This was the best decision I ever made, and the best thing I ever did for myself...
I hope your journey will be successful, and bumpy free...
I live on the Coast of Oregon, and traveled 2 hrs to Eugene (about 125 miles) for my surgery. (June 7, 2013), consequently my Dr. visits are 2hrs away too. It wasn't too bad, the ride home from the hospital. I promised my surgeon we would stop every so often and get out and walk awhile.
Bet you can't wait to get your surgery date, shouldn't be too long now.
=)
I am no longer diabetic and off meds, also off my BP meds... and have regained my mobility, all in just 2 short months! I was using a cane and walking 5 minutes was a huge struggle.... Today for example, I walked over 2 miles :) And LOVED it! Oh, and no cane!
Yep, great bunch of people here... glad you found us!
Again, thank you all.
Patti

Lota stuff to learn here, I had a great doctor and experience with my surgery but I learned a lot from folks here.
