Hi. I thought I would take the time to introduce myself. I'm a new member... I have "stalked" a few support group sites and this DS group really seemed to call to me.
I began this journey a little while ago...but I have taken it slow. As a school teacher, I thought it was best for me to try and schedule my surgery for summer, so I had enough time to recover and get used to my new self. Now I will be undergoing RNY next week (I can't believe it's already here!).
I have noticed a few (very few) people mention that their doctor/surgeon put them on the same *wonderful* liquid diet for two weeks prior. (I hope you detected the sarcasm there.) I have only been doing this for a handful of days, and I am already tired of it. Chocolate, vanilla, and latte shakes are already boring me. However, I am not a huge fan of fruit flavored shakes, because they always have tasted strange to me...not like juice. Any suggestions on how to mix this up? As of right now, I am allowed shakes, broth, jello, and SF popsicles only (in way of food). So I don't even have the ability to add fun mix-ins.

I didn't have to do a liquid diet pre-op so I'm not a lot of help there. I used Muscle Milk 100 and EAS after surgery. For me, chocolate is the easiest flavor. Now I mix Gold Standard Extreme Milk Chocolate with a peanut butter cookie flavor (and lots of ice).

I am not a milk person. I drank a lot of crystal light, my protein choice was carnation instant breakfast no sugar added with skim milk. I did two packets per drink.
