Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Listen to you body and don't worry about anything until it happens. I have never been a late night eater, but I can tell you that since my surgery I am NEVER hungry. I eat and do my protein shakes by the clock, since I have no desire to eat at all.
I have had a few days of emotional roller-coaster and reached out here and found lots of support. It's important to have support, and since I can barely get around until i get new knees, I reached out electronically!!! It's the best!!! Here you will get the support or the kick you need. Just be honest and forthcoming and you will be just fine. Before surgery I lost 55 lbs after surgery (2 1/2 wks) I have lost another 25. I am now under 300 and I haven't seen those numbers since I can't remember when.
Hang in there and trust your instincts and your professionals

Ask yourself...What will happen if I don't do it? We were all scard. I was scard of being unhealthy and fat for the rest of my life. My RNY is a tool. The real success will come from you. You will discover things about yourself and others that you never knew.
I had RNY on 17-Jul-2013. I am about 4.5 weeks out. I have NOT been hungry at all since the surgery. I too was a TV evening eater. My husband works nights...so it's me the TV food. Since I had surgery, the thought of eating makes me sick...I get in my protein, most of the water..most days. Getting in water has been harder for me than wanting to eat. My new tummy tells me when I am done. I also had hiatal hernia repair and partial colectomy (8 inch of my large intestine removed from diverticulitis). The RNY was so easy to recover from. I am just not starting to get some real walking in. I had to wait for my colectomy to heal. Walked about 1.5 miles lastnight......
You can do it! I am down 26.6...in a month not to bad!
Good Luck and everyone here has been amazing to get to know!
