Interesting thing I experienced today in regards to food. I went out to lunch with my brother (from Texas, had not seen him in about 3 years-ish).... He took me to Applebee's. I order the lunch combo of chicken, avocado & strawberry salad (dressing on the side), with their 4 cheese mac & cheese (yeah, really! It was my splurge!)... The lunch dish is a pretty small serving, the salad was about the size of a dinner side salad, and a small dish of mac... so I thought PERFECT! I can only do so much damage
But of course it shows up WITH a darn bread stick... I'm thinking "Ugggh... double carbs!" So I pick through the salad, ate about 1/2 of it using very little dressing. It was yummy! Then I take a bit of mac & cheese... It was good. I dig to the bottom of the little dish to get a cheesy bite, eat a few little, one noodle at a time bites. Then take a bite of the bread stick, just a tiny one...
I was done. Not because I was full... or that my pouch has had enough, feeling... but I just didn't want anymore. It was NO LONGER ENJOYABLE to be eating....
?!?!?!?!?NO LONGER ENJOYABLE TO BE EATING!?!?!?!?
A new experience for me. I have ALWAYS enjoyed eating a meal like this! ALWAYS!! Yeah, there have been times in years gone by when I was eating to stuff feelings when eating was not so much enjoyable, but something I did so I didn't have to think about whatever I didn't want to think about... But that's another chapter!
But a meal out like this??? ALWAYS enjoyed it... ALWAYS wanted to eat it all! ALWAYS!! Didn't always eat it all... but the DESIRE to eat it all was there!
I pondered this for quite awhile after... And yes, when it quit being enjoyable, I STOPPED EATING!!
But I thought... This is what eating is SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE! We eat to nourish our bodies and yes, at times because a treat is enjoyable... AND when we no longer need nourishment, and are no longer enjoying our food. We FRIGGIN STOP!

So glad to be able to eat my fill, really enjoying the food; the tastes, textures, colors, smells, to reach a place where I'm satisfied and push the plate away with a smile. Loving the opportunity to try new foods (who know Yak was so tasty, and that Tibetan sauces were so yummy and fresh!) with family and friends, and still eat well and sensibly. Looooove, love, love my sleeve!
