Ok I will admit, I have not been good at the excercise part since surgery. I would not consider myself sedintary, but I was not taking any measures to be active either. I have been content with my weight loss, I am 4 months out and down 90 lbs. No small number.
Well in the past 3 weeks I have started putting some effort into physical activity. Not exactly intentionally, but simply because I can do it finally and it feels great. Well I have to say, that above and beyond the fact that it makes me feel great, it has boosted my loss for the month. The last two months I would lose for two weeks and then stall of the two weeks around my cycle. I accepted it. Well this month with my new found activity level, I did not stall, and I do believe I will double what I lost last month and maybe some additional. And I am not really working out hard, just being active. I bike 5 or more miles, Kayak an hour or so, or simply go to class and work out two dogs for an hour.
I am so looking forward to shedding the next 38 lbs and falling into onederland! I have plans to start working with a personal trainer in October. My boys start swim team, and I will be at the Y 3 times a week for 2 hrs anyway. Maybe Santa will give me Onederland for Xmas? Of course I would be estatic if I made it by Thanksgiving and my trip to Hawaii.
Sssooo if you are like me and just letting things roll with little movement, get up and dsnce some and boost those numbers! It doesn't take much anc your head and heart will thank you. As my 11 yr old son explained to me as we were biking home on Saturday, excercise boost endorphins and cures depression. Lol. Love that boy, smarter than any kid should be, but keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Awesome! Isn't it scary when these kids say stuff like that? I'm like"where in the world did you learn that!"

Nice you have a son to encourage you..lol.. as I have a daughter... I too have been negligent with the working out.. however I was being a smart arce trying to keep up with my daughter and ended up pulling some muscles.. not fun.. but noticed just yesterday that the pain is subsiding a tad and maybe I can re-start only this time in a smarter way..lol.. best wishes on your undertaking...

Yay you! Keep it up! It becomes just a natural part of your day.

Good for you. It's baby steps. Start with something small and attainable and you will want to do more especially, like you said, when you see the difference on the scale. Every step counts.

How wonderful! Doesn't it feel great to be able to exercise?!

You are doing great! You give me hope! My surgery is on the 19th, I can't really exercise to much right night due to severe pain in my back and legs from degenerative disc disease, arthritis, fibromyalga and arthritis, but I'm hoping that will change with weight loss.

Doing a happy dance with you! congrats and thanks for the encouragement. My two and a half year old is a hurricane wrapped up in a tornado and I must admit that I have been using him as an excuse not to get up and move but I promise myself to do a little better! much needed post for me so thank you!

Its amazing what the extra movement does for us, huh? Good for you! And cute kid! They do surprise us with their knowledge!

Morningflower, your 2 year old should be the reason you get up and go, not your excuse for sitting. Take that child out and introduce him to the wonder that is the world. The bugs, and frogs, and birds, and the planes, and just the excitement of an interesting car driving by. Take that child out and teach him to find his creativity in the world, and not in a television set with stupid TV shows for kids. Your eyes will open to a new perception when you start exploring the mundane through the eyes of a child.
