I use and unflavored Whey protein powder from Nutra-Bio. Really good stuff. You can flavor it with anything. I use coffee, torani syrups. lipton green tea etc. It is 100 percent pure with no fillers. I tried several different brands and could not tolerate it.

I couldn't stand Muscle Milk. I use SEI Max Protein powder, sf torani syrup, coffee & water. Also, go to the World According to Eggface - she has amazing recipes. Best wishes on your journey.

I was drinking Muscle Milk before my surgery but I can't tolerate it since.

If its whey protein, has between 20 and30 grams of protein per serving and is under 200 calories you should be ok.

Have you asked your nutritionist?

In answer to your question, Muscle Milk is fine. Personally, I don't like it. Protein drinks/shakes are a matter of opinion and can change drastically for each person over a period of time. When I first started, pre-op and post op, I was drinking Ensure High Protein. Then it got way too sweet for me. I tried Boost, EAS, Naked, Muscle Milk and a bunch of them. I've probably thrown away more protein drinks than I've actually consumed. :-D There are two versions of Muscle Milk, one is lower in sugar and calories, so watch which one you grab, but if you're able to drink them and enjoying them, then that's what matters. Just don't buy 2-3 cases of them yet as in a month you might not like them or be able to tolerate them anymore. The only thing that I've consistently been able to drink is the Isopure Plus Alpine Punch (8oz, 15g protein, 40c) to have on the go. I have a montly delivery of it from Amazon. Good luck, take it one protein drink at a time. :)

I was told by my Nut that it has metals in it so don't drink it. I don't. I drink Isolate and pur protien... I get a shipment evry two months from Amazon for pure protien peanut butter cream. -yummy- and i get the chocolate fudge cream at commisary and also isolate at comisarry. I just ordered a case of each and it will be in in three days.

I saw Muscle Milk for the first time last Saturday at Costco.

I compared it to the Pure Protein that I normally buy and it has slightly less calories, but only 15g of protein rather than 30g.

If I'm going to choke down a protein shake every morning I want it to have at least 30g of protein in it.

Thanks all for replying, I dont love the muscle milk either its just a more tolerable option in taste for me right now, I will continue to try to find something that I can stand, I didnt know if all of our protein had to be in the whey isolate form because I dont think the muscle milk is and didnt know if I would absorb the protein in the same way, I will check on Amazon and see what they offer also, Thanks Janeekay

I use Muscle Milk, it is on my list of ok'd protein supplements. I too have a hard time finding protein that I can get down and this one is great for me!!

I used EAS for awhile, then couldn't stand it any more and switched to the low calorie muscle milk. Then I started mixing muscle milk with a protein powder....now I just use a powder (Gold Standard). It is normal to go through phases with protein drinks. My nut gave me the ok for Muscle Milk.
