During week one and two?? I'm going to lunch with some family from out of town and I don't want to be awkward at the table. I'd order soup and eat the broth, but I know they usually have a lot of sodium...

We had surgery the same day and today i ate
1/4 cup of healthy choice chicken noodle soup
so far it has stayed down good so i guess we have
to experiment with healthy soft foods to see if our
Pouch likes the food that is my theory.

Chicken noodle soup at a week out is way too soon. I would stick with the mashed potatoes or some refried beans if they have them.

mashe potatoes are a good choice...well really any soft veggie...and i mean something you can chew to bits is ok i think..just take it slow
i had mashed taters today with pot roast at cheddars...with a nice side salad and some streamed broccoli...see? you will eat like "normal" people soon!!

During my 1st month the docotor reccomneded mashed potatoes. We did eat out a lot that month and I ordered a lot of potatoes! LOL it works. Now since the 1st month is over they want me to stay away from potatoes. They are very easy to digest and easy on the stomach at the start though.

wow at week one i was only clear liquids. week 2 was called some kind of liquid but it was jello, cottage cheese, anything that could become liquid in my mouth lol. I cant remember when mashed potatoes started maybe week 3. Do you have a nut? I'd call her and see what is the best thing to eat when you have a commitment to go. Most places I think have the cottage cheese .

My surgeon tells me to call if I have any questions at all even if i think they are dumb. I havent so far but Ill tell you I would after thest past couple years Im a paranoid baby scared of pissing off my pouch. lol

I was truly about to ask and I guess i am curious i thought the first week out was liquids, I'm curious as to which surgery allows mash potatoes right out the gate, it seems a bit soon

Soup and clear liquids first week. 2nd week go slow, you should have been guven a sample menu from your Nut.

I was on liquids for 3 weeks. Then moved to pureed foods. I would think chicken noodle soup an mashed potatoes at 1 week is to soon. Have to let your pouch heal after surgery which is why all the liquids.
