So I am just shy of 11 months post-op and am 15 lbs away from my goal of 185. It amazing to think that a year ago I was over 300. It's humbling to think about all the things that are so much easier to do now like gardening, mowing the lawn, taking long walks, staying in the sun for longer periods of time etc. Being out with groups of new people and hearing them make fun of someone we don't even know about how much they are eating or what they are wearing breaks my heart because I WAS that person! I stand up for the unknown stranger that is oblivious to the the discussion from across the room because I know that struggle of extra fluff! It's not easy to carry that around or easy to get rid of it. When I tell them to be kind in their judgement and they ask why, I say because not too long ago I was the same way then they want the story. I share the struggles and the hard work of getting to where I am (leaving out the surgery part because that is none of their business) then their attitudes change to praising me. That's not what I wanted them to get out of the conversation! I want them to think about their actions and how miserable and lonely that person might be feeling. It just seems unless they have actually struggled with it to they just can't see it. Makes me feel sad about our society.

I have noticed a few bad habits wanting to sneak back into the picture, i.e eating too fast, eating items that have zero nutrition, etc. It's much easier to notice those habits now as that is no longer my normal daily function. It reminds me that those little things will always try to find their way back into my life like an annoying fly.

Shedding the excess has helped with a few health items (probably more than I really know) but have been having some pretty bad dizzy spells, to the point of blacking out twice. Dr's are not sure what is causing them. Have had an MRI done and inner ear testing and everything is normal. I get down on myself because I just want to be HEALTHY. I'm tired of Dr's and tests. :(
