My surgery is tomorrow. I received a letter from my sister in the mail yesterday and in it she said something so profound that I had to share it with you all. She said "weight loss surgery is not about looking good, or losing weight, it is a decision to love yourself enough to move past the demons that we have been carrying around with us."
My sister had the RNY surgery 7 years ago and she had a rough start but now is so much healthier and happier than she was before.
I had a lot of mixed emotions about this life changing decision right from the beginning (6 years ago when my doctor originally wanted me to get it done), it has taken me a lot of time to come to the conclusion that I couldn't fight this disease on my own.
Keep fighting ladies and gentlemen. WE ARE ALL WORTH IT!

Its not always easy to do, but I try to remind myself often I did this to reclaim my health and mobility, which I have done... not reach some magic number on the scale or some tag in my jeans that reflect that perfect size.
This is so much more!
