So... as many of you know, I had a tough few days. JJ tells me my first melt down was right on schedule! LOL!
I am doing MUCH better! Have come to grips that my break down was so much of the head stuff that we are destined to go thru... In fact I've come to the conclusion that (at least for me) to heal from emotional eating, food as a coping tool, etc etc, it is necessary for the walls to come down and for the emotions to come thru. (something like that!)
Anyways... yesterday evening my hubby and I went for a walk. In our neighborhood there is a very upscale retirement, assisted living complex with manicured lawns... On the way back, I plopped down in the grass and laid down. Its been so long since I've done something like this... In part because getting down and back up was such a pain, and in part... well.... just was not out walking much....
This time it was easy(er) to just 'flop down' and get back up! But my hubby was so surprised! It was funny! And it felt so good to just live in that moment, looking up at the sky, appreciating everything wonderful in my life. in fact so much so... that I did it again today while out for one of my walks :)
My point... Not sure I have one other than to say I think I am taking time to smell the roses so to speak... and it feels good :) And of course to brag that already (3 weeks post op) it is so much easier to get up and down off the ground, so much so that I am doing it willingly :)

However, I do feel the different outlook that you allude to in your post. It seemed that as soon as I got home from the hospital, more things seemed possible and I was actually looking forward to new things & experiences for the first time in a long time. It's a great "new life" feeling!
