Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Now, if you were talking about the RNY resizing, my experience has only gotten better with time and learning even more about how I need to sustain my new(ish) body. It took me about 9 months post RNY to even want to grocery shop, let alone cook, eat and clean up. Eventhough they only change our insides, I can't believe there's not a connection between the surgery and desire for anything to do with food. After 2 1/4 years, I still find it hard to get excited over foods that would have sent me into estacey (sp?) . I hardly ever have a preference on where to go if we eat out. Maybe that's just 'cause I get tired if playing with my food. In teasing on day when Sweetie asked me where we should go to get a bite for lunch, I said that it really didn't matter to me, cause I eat pizza tops and sandwich guts. All that aside, I basically eat strictly for nutrition. Same stuff for breakfasts and break time at work as I ate in the beginning. Lunch has little variances, supper mostly very light protein dense. So far, not even the slightest fluctuation on the scale, at least when I DO weigh cause I'm no longer a scale whore. Lots has changed over time so far with the acceptance of self factor!
Hope your journey's been as successful as mine!
Blessings!
