Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. Surgery for me was Dec. 31st 2013 (I just say January 1st 2014-lot easier)
I must say thru it all so far, even though there's been "my sick days"...it has been worth having my Bypass surgery. I have went from a little over #250- to this morning on the scale it read #178. So I have lost around 75 pounds and I've gained so much more happiness in my life! Not only am I healthier overall but it sure is a exciting feeling to slide right into a size 14 or sometimes size 12s. I used to wear a 22 .( Im 5'6 ish)
People at work and all around have noticed and asked me how Ive lost it.
I tell them surgery but then explain to them that this is NOT the EASY way out... its a tool. A tool to start over and get it right this time. That there are days where the food you eat actually "tells" you "Hey girl,,, this little rendezvous you had with me...it just aint workin' out between us" ( and Bleck here it goes!) In my head I still sometimes think I can eat just whatever and how much I want and there we go....little pouch will control all that..if "Pouchy" aint happy...you'll know it!!!
Well its a good feeling being able to walk and not feel like Ive got a small child Im carrying. I still huff and puff but not because of the extra weight.
I need to work out my arms more underneath, that or consider tattooing American flags there so I can wave them in the wind...just kidding.
Im happier and for those considering surgery...do your research. Think about it, weigh out your options and most of all do it for yourself...not others.

I loved your post. I had to "reply" as I just had a girlfriend (not so sure if she would be considered a friend or acquaintance) share with me a comment another gal made to her about my sagging skin on my upper arms and how she would never wear short sleeves like I was wearing and would wear 3/4 length sleeves. Needless to say, I cried myself to sleep that night. I am 11 months post op and have lost 95 lbs. I'm not quite 5'3.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
