Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
this friend of mine is and elderly lady who has always been thin. she can gain about 30 lbs or so but usually manages to get it off as long as she stays away from certain things. The book she read is about wheat and HMO's ?GMO's? LOL! Forget which letters it is. Shows how much I paid attention during her lecture. LOL
You can do it and keep it off, you have to do whats right for you not what people say. Plus its so easy for someone skinny to give someone who is overweight advice, cause they dont have to deal with what we do. They just really dont understand...Stay Positive :D
Reading here though I know we do this for our health and the lasting effects is the weight loss. I know this we live it i have a fear of geting all those obesity related things i had and meds back.
However I think im a WLS snob because when someone tells me they are doing it and ONLY seem to be doing it for weight loss I get pissed and lecture them on it not being a frekin diet and its so not easy and not everyone goes through the procedure with out having issues. In my circle of peeps I know 3 out of 7 have had complications. I guess what Im saying is if you choose to tell others focus on the health issues and leave the weight out of it if its a person who dosent understand that struggle. I only told a hand full of people but I have family who burn up the phone lines with this stuff so I dont have to. Guess Im a chicken or something in that respect.
Forget her! You can do this. You can have the life you want. Go for it, girl! :)
