I am starting to have some hair loss. This doesn't bother me as much as it might some as I have enough hair for 3 or 4 people, so a little loss might actually be a nice change. The part I find curious is that the only hair that falls is the still brown stuff while the gray poop stays nice a strong, poking out of my head like little flags announcing my impending aging cycle.........

I color my hair so my platnum blondes are hidden, I'm in the odd stage where the hair is growing back. It's about 5 inches long and out of control. Pieces stick out and it's creating cowlicks. Just a few more months and then It will be better, but then I'm having plastic surgery and may start to lose my hair again.

Mine started to fall out like clock work right at three months post op. It lasted about a month to six weeks but now is thicker and has more texture than before the surgery. I still use Paul Mitchel Thickening Shampoo, not sure if it helped or not but I still use it just in case.

How far out are you Golden? I've noticed a lot of hair in my brush, but with low Thyroid I've always lost a lot of hair. I'm worried I will lose more hair just above my forehead where it's already thin....

Have any of you used those shampoos with biotin? Wondering if that helps or not. I have lots of hair, too, Golden. I don't look forward to the sticking out part like you describe tho, Shelley. It figures that those darn gray hairs stick around though. Tough little buggers.

***SIGH**** One of my biggest vanity worries! Right next to bat wings! I already have very thin hair unlike you and losing any is cause for distress!

Like Joy, my thyroid already affects my hair...

I have taken biotin (pills) for several months now and I can tell my skin is happier, not too sure about my hair yet. I also use Nixon shampoo for a couple months too and even womans rogain. I figure the first two are hopefully at least making what I got healthier.... and the 3rd is a wish! :)

Shelley, my hair totally fell out after each of my plastic surgeries...and it fell out after my hysterectomy (just 10 months before my RNY)...so I had/have all sorts of crazy going on with different layers of new growth. The upside? My hairdresser doesn't have to thin my hair and I suddenly have beautiful curls.
