Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Now there's one less question on my list. I got the book "Before and After" yesterday, looks good, thanks MissNita. and thank you all.

I try to choose the high protein things (burger - no bun...shredded chicken - no but, etc). I drink what ever they are having. I just join in as I always did...just I don't eat as much. I doubt anyone really even notices.
But I can still do everything I could before my surgery as far as socializing goes. And I enjoy myself just as much if not more. I actually don't spend my whole time grazing on all the food now. I actually have become more active at gatherings - helping with cleaning up, etc.
You will not feel left out at all. Put that fear aside right now.
Congrats on your decision to get the surgery. I bet your excited!

Now at a party or potluck, for me its a totally different story. I use a dessert plate and I feel like I am eating like everyone else- even though my portions are TINY in comparison.
No matter what, I eat my protien 1st, vegs or friut second and carbs 3rd!
