Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Remember that your tastes will change after surgery from what you like or can eat pre op to post op. I stocked up on decaf french roast coffee at a Trader Joes in Indy Memorial Day weekend since we don't have a Trader Joes in my town and its a 2 hour drive to one and now I don't even drink decaf coffee post op! I've got 7 14 oz bags of this decaf coffee now! UGH! I also stocked up on the wlyers brand sugar free drink mixes that I loved pre op mixed with water but post op I can't stand them. Hopefully a more weeks out I will like them again. I had on hand lots of packets of different protein shake mixes too but was lucky that what I drank pre op I liked post op.
I also stocked up on sugar free popsicles and did eat them alot for the first month post op but now I don't eat them. Check the dollar store or if you have Deals store for the popsicles I only paid $1 a box for the sugar free wylers Raspberry ones. I had a blender and one of those smoothies makers but my program doesn't have a puree stage so I didn't use it.
