Hi kids! I'm new to this site. I have been reading some great encouraging things here. I am 47yrs old and have been divorced for 20 yrs. I have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I had a RNY on 5/12/08 and things are going well. I just wish I had more energy! Hopefully that will come as I am able to eat more. It's great to find a place to share information and express feelings!

Hi there! WELCOME! Are you getting all your vitamins and protein in? I am feeling really good. My energy level is actually greatly improved. I do have a lot of gas/gas pains though.

I had my RNY GBS May 13th!!! How much have you lost? I am down 9 lbs in 2 weeks. I had gained 13 lbs from surgery and lost that plus the 9 lbs. I don't know if that is good or not?

Welcome! I have found this discussion group fantastic. It has motivated more than anything before. I am 7 years post-op but gained a lot of weight back after my husband passed away 16 months ago. I've been back on track for approx2-3 weeks and am losing the pounds once again and I feel great to be able to get back into a pair jeans I haven't worn since before Christmas. I have really been educated from this site. i did not do follow up much after I had the surgery as i moved to another small province. I went to see a dietian for the first time today and she was interested in this site as well. She is not overly familiar with gastric by-pass however, she was impressed by what I told her and she was pleased to see that I am getting the nutrients I need. Have a great day!
