I am so there with ya sweety. I was 344 lbs this time last year. I went in to see my obgyn and she had me sit up on the exam table, a big heavy sturdy one they do paps on. I sat down, and tipped that thing up in the air! Crashed down so loud the whole doctors office stopped and then came to look. How mortifying!!! I also had problems sitting in chairs and opted for benches. When I was pregnant a few years ago, they couldn't get any of the monitoring equipment to work, because I was too fat and it couldn't pick up even the baby's heart beat. I had internal monitors with all three of my labor and deliveries.

I just wanted to let you know that soon this will all be remembered as a past life. I'm 7 months post op now and 129 lbs down, weighing in at 215 today. I wear a size 14, and can shop in the regular ladies secton. I really do feel like I was given a ticket to join the rest of society after being on the outside as some misfit for the last 31 years. It's a little weird, expect some culture shock! Like going to another country or planet, LOL.

Hang in there, your time is coming soon, you are making a great decision to get your life back. I wish I could just give ya a hug.

Vamessa, that's terrible! I'm so sorry you had to exp[erience that. At my doctor's bariatric center, they have put in oversized chairs, beds, wheelchairs, etc. so you are comfortable when you go there. Wonder why others don't do this?

I think l can all relate. Keep your head up you one day will sit down in those same chairs and and cross your legs saying WOW!! When they come to take your BP they won't have to go get the "big" cuff, everything will be "normal".

Hang in there! Just think this time next year, this will all be a bad memory and you will be enjoying your new life.

Soon all this will be is a bad memory. Life will be good again..and you will be the "skinny" one.

I am sorry these people were so thoughtless. There is only one MRI machine which can accomodate anyone over 300 pounds or with wide shoulders and a tummy in like a 40 mile radius of us, and we live in a city where there are at least 10 major hospitals. My SO and I have both had to make long drives in the past to have scans, so I feel your pain. This too shall pass, but now you know to ask before procedures so you get to be an advocate for yourself instead of feeling broadsided. Information is power, and we are powerful people!
